New Life undertakes BCA work as well as building facility upgrades
New Life Building project manages and undertakes all of the necessary fire safety and EWIS systems, controls and building modifications, which are mandated by the Building Code of Australia to ensure your building complies with the relevant BCA guidelines.
One example of our BCA experience is the work we have done and are doing for the Counsel’s Chambers in Philip Street, Sydney. New Life Building in conjunction with Architectus have completed stages 1 to 12 for Chambers since commencing in 1996 and we have 2 more years of BCA upgrading to undertake in order to complete this compliance project.
In this case, the program of upgrades addresses building services, specifically fire detection and suppression. The work involves staged construction of sprinklers, smoke detection, EWIS, smoke hazard management, exit and emergency lighting.
In addition to undertaking this BCA work for Chambers, New Life is also providing them with a number of building facilities upgrades. This includes the consolidation of their cooling tower and pump arrangement, putting in new stormwater outlets from the roof, replacing a mechanical switchboard, network relocations, putting in new air-conditioning systems, renovating bathrooms and replacing plumbing on every level, and more.
New Life Building offers you a total turn-key solution to comply with all BCA services requirements. We work progressively, floor by floor, or by type of service, or in order to lift a Council Fire Order for example. Our range of passive and active BCA services includes constructing, installing, documenting and commissioning:
- Fire hydrants and extinguishers
- Fire control valve rooms
- Sprinklers and EWIS systems
- Smoke alarms, lights and detection systems
- Air pressurisation and smoke exhaust
- Fire doors
- Non-combustible linings
- Fire rated walls, floors and ceilings
- Staircase / handrail modifications
We often work out of normal business hours and on public holidays to reduce client downtime and speed up service delivery, as required. And as all of our key personnel are on staff, they take more pride in their work and are more understanding of avoiding client disruption and downtime than the casual contractors used by many other companies.
While handling BCA work does not require a full building license New Life has Building Contractor Licenses for both New South Wales and the A.C.T. (NSW: 74298C. ACT: 7351) and our clients appreciate the added piece of mind that dealing with a fully qualified licensed builder provides. We have also been a member of the HIA (no. 815070) since 1999.
So for all BCA work and building facilities upgrades, you can depend on New Life Building.
